About

Who am I?

I am a studio based potter in Australia's national capital, Canberra.  I have two electric kilns and a well equipped work place.

I like simple.  I work in white earthenware, underglaze colours and one clear glaze developed in my workshop.

I fire something every year for the Mater Hospital Ladies Auxillery in Newcastle.  It is a donation.  I do it in memory of Brigitte Warren a close friend.

This year I am making the house numbers in my store.  I decided on these because they can be sold all year round , not just on the Christmas stall

And here they are in colour.  My clear glaze with some copper.  No pinholes, no crawling and no running off.  Just what I always wanted

New ideas flow at a great rate.  I have spent many years with a pram in a corridor.  Now the ideas are released.  I think about the environment, Indigenous casualties of nuclear testing and the bland taking over our lives
I don't work from drawings. I make a lot of molds. I put them on a table and move them around like a chess set. I reflect From this comes the works

Living in the country most of my life I have had some great teachers and attended great workshops. These people include Janet Mansfield, Chester Nealy, Hiroe Swen, Bill Samuels, Greg Daly, Ros Auld.
